September - Review graduation and college admission requirements
   
November - Deadline for most early decision and early action applications
   
January - Follow up on your recommendations to be sure they have been sent
   
Follow up with colleges you do not plan to attend thanking them for their offer
                   
Register for October & November SAT's
   
Review first quarter grades
    As you start to hear from colleges, keep your parents and counselor informed
   
Follow up with all colleges that have put you on a waiting list
                   
Meet with college representatives
   
Begin preparing your application after consulting with guidance
   
Send 2nd quarter grades to colleges you applied to
   
Take AP exams
                   
Early decision candidates begin application for deadline     Take SAT's or SAT II's     Prepare for your AP exams      
                   
Begin your personal essay for college applications
   
December - Complete and submit college applications!!!!
   
   
                   
Reminder - colleges are looking closely at your first quarter grades!                  
                   
ROTC Scholarship application should be started

Obtain all the necessary financial aid forms
   
File FAFSA or any appropriate financial aid forms
   
                   
      Determine if you need to file a CSS profile     Contact guidance if you require any clarification of your child's college acceptances and aid offers      
                   
Make sure your son/daughter is registered for SAT's
   
Attend scheduled financial aid night at the school
   
Watch for FAFSA acknowledgement and Student Aid Report (SAR)
