On the heels of an outstanding set of graduation events celebrating the Class of 2017, we are now planning our Eighth Grade Closing Ceremony, honoring those students who have been with us for junior high and are now transitioning into the senior high. We are extremely proud of these students and also pleased that we hold on to almost all of them as they matriculate. Out junior high is a vital and important part of our school community, and we are thrilled to be able to honor them next Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in our Burke Center for Performing Arts. All are welcome to attend!
This event is even more special as it takes place within the structure of the Catholic mass, and we are fortunate to have our very own Father Flynn available to celebrate the liturgy that evening. After mass, our Parents Association will host a reception in the cafeteria. It is certain to be a wonderful evening.
It is interesting to note that a majority of our class valedictorians and salutatorians over the past fifteen years have been students that began their Holy Name careers in the junior high. This is a tribute not only to the wonderful teachers that instruct our junior high students but also to the quality of the curriculum and structure of the Holy Name Junior High School. We are pleased to be able to offer small class sizes, individualized instruction and high expectations to these students. They also benefit from being part of the larger high school community in terms of programming and technology. We are very proud of our seventh and eighth graders for all that they bring to our school community.
