On Monday, we will host the second annual Father Flynn Golf Tournament held to raise money to provide financial aid for working families who strongly desire the outstanding, faith based Catholic education that Holy Name provides for their children but who have challenges affording the tuition. This is a first class event held at the Sterling Country Club, and we are blessed to have a dedicated committee of volunteers led by our Director of Development, Mr. Scott Anderson, who work diligently to organize the event, to invite participants and sponsors, and to procure high quality prizes for contests and a silent auction.
This is not only a great fund raiser for the school, it is also an opportunity for many of our alumni and friends to reconnect and to share a spring afternoon out on a beautiful course. The tournament also allows us the opportunity to celebrate and to spend time with Father Flynn who has been so important to our school and the Diocese of Worcester.
Father Flynn is a long standing and cherished member of our community. He works in our guidance department, celebrates our liturgies, and provides counsel and support to a great many of our students and staff. We are indeed fortunate to have such an outstanding priest at our school, and we are grateful to the parishioners at St. Matthew Parish in Southboro for sharing him with us.
