On September 14, 2017, Holy Name Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School will host the Sisters Of St. Anne for a very special and important Founders Day celebration. This event will mark the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the original Holy Name High School on Illinois Street in Worcester as well as the fiftieth anniversary of the school’s institution as a central Catholic school on Granite Street.
We will welcome the Sisters of St. Anne and other honored guests to the school for a Mass attended by all faculty, staff, and students followed by a recognition of the sisters for all that they have done throughout the years to support Holy Name. We will then have a barbecue luncheon sponsored by our Parents Association and a pep rally recognizing our students and their fall extra-curricular activities.
On this very important day, Holy Name will announce that we have begun the planning process of a multi-phased fundraising effort to commemorate these fiftieth and seventy-fifth anniversaries intended to secure the future of Holy Name for next fifty years and to provide some much needed upgrades and improvements inside and outside of the building.
This is a very exciting and wonderful time in the history of Holy Name High School, and, as always, we are thrilled to be able to welcome and recognize the founding order of the Sisters of St. Anne as we celebrate the Catholic mission of Holy Name Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School.
