Recently, our Director of Development, Mr. Scott Anderson, posted on our Facebook page a picture of the Life Science/Biotechnology Learning Center that we will be opening at Holy Name in the fall of 2018. We were thrilled to see the level of engagement that this post inspired; it seems as if the greater community is as excited about this improvement as we are. We are blessed to have received an very generous leadership gift of fifty thousand dollars from alumna Naja (Mary) Pham Lockwood and her family for this project.
Our fundraising has continued, and we have received an additional fifty thousand dollars in pledges and gifts as of today. We have also begun to meet with the contractors who will complete this work, and I have every confidence that we will complete this project over the summer and be able to unveil this wonderful, leading edge space in the fall of 2018. We are also very grateful to our partners at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for their help in designing and equipping this science center which will be used by all of our science teachers across the curriculum.
It is certainly an exciting time in the school’s history as we work to improve our programs and facilities while staying true to the vision and values of our school’s founders, The Sisters of St. Anne. It is this combination of tradition and innovation that makes Holy Name the greatest school in the world!
