Today, we kicked off our annual Spring Musical Ad Drive, and I would like to thank all of those who get involved with this for their dedication to our school. It is the singular school wide fundraising effort that we undertake, and it is a drive unlike most. Students are asked to sell ad space in the program for our Spring Musical; this year we are presenting Cinderella. These programs will be seen by over seven hundred audience members over the course of four shows. Although somewhat non-traditional, this type of fundraiser is extremely advantageous as every dollar of revenue is dedicated to the school; there is no product to pay for or company to reimburse; the only expense is the production of the programs.
It is important to note that, although this fundraiser is based around the Spring Musical, proceeds are used across the spectrum of outstanding extra curricular activities at Holy Name. Therefore, the entire school benefits from this drive. We are extremely grateful for those who take ad space in the program either personally or through their businesses or places of employment and for those who help our students make sales.
We are also fortunate to be able to provide wonderful prizes to our salespeople. Students can earn cash, prom tickets, out of dress code allowances and even Dr. Audette’s parking space. We were blessed this year to receive four sets of four Red Sox tickets with field access for batting practice thanks to Wally the Green Monster, Class of ’99. Again, we are extremely grateful to all of our families, business partners and friends for their support, friendship and prayers. It is wonderful to be a part of this great Catholic school community!
