Our senior class of 2017 had their official last day of classes on Wednesday past, and it was certainly bittersweet to share this day with them; we have come to know them as an outstanding group of dedicated students, and they will be missed. They have been a joy to know, and it has been a great experience to watch them grow and achieve. We are looking forward to sharing the next two weeks of graduation rehearsals, ceremonies, and events with this class and their families.
We have worked hard to reinforce the values that are taught in the home with this group, and I feel that their behavior on the last day proves that we have shared success. Although the class was certainly exuberant and appropriately celebratory, they were ultimately respectful and thoughtful of others as they finished the day. I was very impressed with their demeanor and maturity as they finished classes, attended an assembly, and left the building and campus.
We have worked to impress upon this class that they have a great deal for which to be thankful; they are faithful, talented, hard working, and spirited. They owe much of this to parents, grandparents, other family members, guardians, teachers, and friends. As we continue to work together over the next two weeks, I am certain that they will show their gratitude not only with words but also with their actions and decisions.
