Holy Name Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School is proud to offer a full slate of athletic opportunities for grades seven through twelve. Holy Name competes at a very high level while maintaining accessibility for students of all skill levels. Holy Name offers at least one sport per season for girls and boys with a no-cut policy, guaranteeing that every student can participate in athletics each season regardless of ability or experience.
Coaches are aware that their priorities are as follows, in order of importance: provide a clear, Christian role model for their students; uphold the school’s academic and discipline policies; teach the sport and related skills; and inspire students to compete at their highest level.
The following sports are offered at Holy Name:
Fall Sports: Football, Girls and Boys Soccer, Field Hockey, Cheerleading, Golf, Cross Country Track, Girls Swimming.
Winter Sports: Boys and Girls Basketball, Cheerleading, Indoor Track
Spring Sports: Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, Lacrosse
Holy Name is a member of and is governed by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. The MIAA supports the commitment to interscholastic athletic programs as an essential educational opportunity for students. Young men and women develop physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially through voluntary participation in properly conducted athletic programs, including tournaments. The development of self image, character, stamina, physical skills, achievement, self discipline, and the desire to excel are all advantages associated with high school sport participation.
